How to turn LinkedIn into a resume
- 1
Open your LinkedIn profile on a computer
Go to linkedin.com and open your own profile. The Save to PDF option is not in the mobile app, so use a browser (on a phone, switch to the desktop site).
- 2
Choose Save to PDF
Click the Resources or More button near the top of your profile (the label varies) and choose Save to PDF. LinkedIn downloads a PDF of your profile.
- 3
Upload the PDF here
Drop the file into the box on this page. We read it in your browser and show your resume straight away, with no account needed.
- 4
Edit and download your resume

Frequently asked questions
Can you connect directly to my LinkedIn account?
No. LinkedIn does not let apps read your profile, so you download your profile as a PDF yourself and upload it. It takes about a minute.
Do I need an account to see my resume?
No. You can upload your LinkedIn PDF and see your resume right away. You only sign up when you want to edit it or download it.
Is my LinkedIn PDF uploaded to a server?
The file is read in your browser on this page. It is only saved to your account when you choose to continue into the builder and sign in.
Will everything import perfectly?
Parsing is automatic, so check dates and bullet points in the builder. LinkedIn profiles are often written for browsing, so most people tighten the wording for a resume.
Is a LinkedIn profile the same as a resume?
Not quite. A resume is shorter, tailored to one job and written for applicant tracking systems. The builder helps you trim and tailor what you import.
