Frequently asked questions

Do I need a photo on a UAE CV?

Not always. A professional photo is common in the region and some employers like it, but many companies, especially multinationals, do not require one. If you add one, use a plain, professional headshot. When in doubt, follow the job posting.

Should I include my visa status?

Commonly, yes. Recruiters often want to know whether you already live in the UAE and can join quickly. Keep it short, for example 'UAE residence visa' or 'Visit visa, available to join immediately'.

How long should a UAE CV be?

Two pages is common. One page can work if you are early in your career. Put the most relevant experience on the first page.

Do I have to include my date of birth and marital status?

No. Many CVs in the region include them, but it is optional. Include them only if you are comfortable doing so.

Should I mention my notice period?

If you are currently employed, yes. It helps recruiters plan, and it is one of the first things many UAE hiring teams ask.
